Our mission at Not Just Pink Custard is to improve the lives of children and young people.
Whether it’s improving their health through our school meals service, providing a space at one of our cafes for families to meet, or running an after school club that helps young people build their skills and confidence, our goal is always to improve the lives of children and young people.
Born out of a collaboration with Nexus Multi Academy Trust, Not Just Pink Custard will be the first not-for-profit school meals provider in the region. Founded by chef and social entrepreneur Chris Hanson, Not Just Pink Custard will focus on work with children and young people in full-time education and will develop an integrated programme of services that aim to improve the health and educational outcomes for children and young people in and around South Yorkshire initially through our school meals provision, cafe and extended schools activities.
School meals
Our school meals service combines delicious and healthy dishes that comply with all government school meals legislation at a great value price. Whether prepared on site in an existing school kitchen or prepared in our hub kitchen and delivered to your site, our flexible approach will ensure your students are guaranteed a great lunch.
Cafe
Our family friendly cafes will combine a safe, accessible space where children, young people and their families and carers can meet for some great value, nutritious food. We’re opening our first in November 2024 but please get in touch if you’re looking for a space to meet either as a regular formal group or as an ad hoc informal get together. More information coming soon.
Other services
Not Just Pink Custard will be developing a number of other activities that enable young people to reach their potential. Whether it be a cooking class that provides a young person with the skills needed to eat well, or a work placement that helps a young person explore an industry they are interested in; our plan is to develop a varied programme of activities that engage and support children and young people.
